The Badgers are losing one of their freshmen defensive linemen after just one season.

Weber, a true freshman this past season was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2024, and was recruited by former defensive line coach Greg Scruggs.
He was a part of a three-linemen class for the Badgers last season, coming in alongside four-star Dillan Johnson and four-star Ernest Willor, and was brought in as a defensive end.
A native of Tennessee, Weber had received 15 scholarship offers during his recruitment, and had official visits scheduled with North Carolina and Vanderbilt, as well as Wisconsin, where he ultimately committed after an early visit.
Weber was initially brought in as a 6’4, 250-pound defensive end who had room to grow into his frame and be either an interior or outside position that could play big and strong in Wisconsin’s defense.
After not enrolling early, Weber wasn’t a part of the depth chart this past season, as Johnson was the lone freshman to earn key snaps in 2024, but could have competed for a role this upcoming year with a number of departures coming at the position.
Instead, he’ll head to the transfer portal with four years of eligibility after using his redshirt this season.
