The Wisconsin Badgers have their next quarterbacks coach. Only it may not be who many expected.
The Badgers are moving wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton to their vacant quarterbacks coach role, according to multiple reports, filling the major hole that had been sitting empty since offensive coordinator Phil Longo was fired back in November.

Guiton, hired from the Arkansas Razorbacks to be the team’s receivers coach last offseason, was a former college quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, even playing professionally for a brief period before turning to the coaching ranks.
He has never been a quarterbacks coach, but took over as the interim for Longo for the final two games of the season. His experience as a former player clearly appealed to the Badgers staff, who are making a big leap in moving the current staffer to his new position.
Guiton has been known as a strong recruiter with ties to the Texas area, and will now be tasked with coaching up a room full of new quarterbacks, as the Badgers don’t have a single scholarship signal-caller from the 2024 season still on the roster.
With the move, Wisconsin will now have a vacancy as the wide receivers coach, but that is expected to be filled shortly to complete the staff.
Dealing with a few coaching changes this offseason, the Badgers have primarily looked internally, promoting assistant Jack Cooper to the safeties coach hole left by Alex Grinch, who departed for the defensive coordinator position with the UCF Knights.
Now, Guiton is expected to be their next quarterbacks coach in a major move for the Badgers.
