Wisconsin’s top running back is coming back for another year. It just won’t be with the Badgers.
The Wisconsin Badgers are losing their 26th player to the transfer portal, as starting running back Tawee Walker is set to move on after one season with the program.

A senior this past season, Walker is electing to take advantage of the newly passed rule which provides more eligibility for former JUCO players, as he spent a year at junior college before heading to Oklahoma.
Walker rushed for 864 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Badgers, which were both career-highs as he took over the starting role at Wisconsin.
He wasn’t expected to return, as he was out of eligibility, but the recent news has provided Walker with one final year in college football. That just won’t be in Madison.
Without the senior running back, the Badgers have a younger room to work with in 2025, led by rising sophomore Darrion Dupree, who was the No. 2 back behind Walker this season.
After having a loaded room last season, the Badgers are losing both Walker and Chez Mellusi, while not bringing any other running back into their room thus far, leaving Dupree, Cade Yacamelli, and Dilin Jones as the top projected backs for 2025.
