The Badgers star is coming back for another year, despite having NFL interest.
The Wisconsin Badgers got some good news late Friday night, as right tackle Riley Mahlman announced he’ll be returning for a final season in 2025, foregoing the 2025 NFL Draft.

Mahlman, a multi-year starter for the Badgers, has been one of Wisconsin’s best players over the past few years, manning the right side of the offensive line, and was expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft this season.
However, he’ll be returning, citing unfinished business as the reason for his return.
Arguably Wisconsin’s best draft prospect in 2025, Mahlman had some inconsistencies late in the 2024 season, giving up a team-high 17 pressures on the year, especially struggling against the Oregon Ducks, where he gave up five pressures working against Matayo Uiagalalelei.
Still, he was one of the team’s best offensive linemen and should be a staple for Wisconsin’s offense in 2025, as they look to replace a number of starters along the offensive line.
Left tackle Jack Nelson and right guard Joe Huber are gone, while center Jake Renfro’s future is unclear, leaving up to three potential spots to fill going into the offseason.
But, the right tackle spot is solidified with Mahlman returning in 2025.
