The Badgers spring game is just a week away.
The Wisconsin Badgers women’s volleyball team is back in action in just one week, as they’ll host the Marquette Golden Eagles in a spring match next Wednesday, with first serve set for 7:30 p.m. at the UW Field House. The match will be played on Big Ten Network.
Wisconsin is hosting two spring games, with next Wednesday’s being the first. They’ll also play UW-Green Bay on April 22nd, with first serve set for 6:00 p.m.
The Badgers have undergone some massive changes this offseason, as they lost six key players, including star outside hitter Sarah Franklin, prompting head coach Kelly Sheffield to hit the transfer portal.
Wisconsin brought in outside hitters Mimi Colyer, Grace Egan, and Grace Lopez to fill the holes on the roster. Colyer is the biggest addition, coming from Oregon, where she was the 2024 AVCA Northwest Region Player of the Year and a three-time AVCA All-American.
Egan comes from Ohio State and has three years of eligibility left, while Lopez came from Miami, where she was an All-ACC First Teamer.
Lopez, however, will miss the 2025 season with a torn ACL, so Wisconsin will be without a key piece for the upcoming year, and may prompt them to hit the transfer portal once again.
Nonetheless, the Badgers are back at the UW Field House next Wednesday for a spring game, with first serve coming at 7:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
