The Badgers brought in a wing target this weekend for a visit.
The Wisconsin Badgers brought in a number of recruits on unofficial visits this weekend, even dipping into the basketball world, as 2027 wing Ty Schlagel was in attendance, ultimately earning a scholarship offer on his visit.
Schlagel, a 6’7, 185-pound wing from Minnesota, earned three offers over the past week from Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, setting up an early race for the rising 2027 recruit.
It was Schlagel’s first visit in Madison, and it ended up being a productive trip with the offer, even if Wisconsin’s football team struggled in a 42-10 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Badgers have long recruited the state of Minnesota well, with five current players hailing from there: senior Steven Crowl, sophomores Jack Janicki and Nolan Winter, and freshmen Daniel Freitag and Jack Robison.
Schlagel appears to be one of the next targets from the state, and Wisconsin is putting an early emphasis here, as the wing is just the second player that the Badgers have offered a scholarship to in the Class of 2027 alongside in-state forward Donovan Davis.
Schlagel does play for the Howard Pulley AAU program, which is similar to a number of current Badgers players.
