Davis, a native of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, stands at 6’7, 200 pounds and earned his first offer overall from the Badgers on Thursday.
What was the feeling like?
“It felt amazing to get my first offer to a school that I’ve watched over my childhood, Davis said. “After the camp, I went to go thank the coaches and when I went to go thank Coach Gard, he told me that he liked how I played and he would like to give me an offer from Wisconsin.”
“It feels great to know that Division 1 schools are starting to look at me and that’s what I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid.”
Davis went into the day looking to compete against a talented pool of players, demonstrating his skillset on both ends.
“Today’s camp went very well. There was lots of competition and lots of great players there. I think I did pretty good. I was able to get to the rim and get some shots as well as getting passes to my teammates for them to score. I think I also played good defense as well.”
What are the next steps for the rising sophomore as he continues to improve his game?
“Some things I feel that I need to improve is making more 3 pointers and making them consistently. Another thing is getting to the rim with different moves and learning those new moves.”
Playing for Freedom High School, Davis will look to continue to grow next season, but has accomplished a major hurdle with his first offer from Wisconsin.
