The Badgers are moving quickly on a quarterback in the 2026 class.
As the offseason rolls on, the Wisconsin Badgers are looking to amp up their recruiting efforts in the 2026 class, with spring visits on the horizon starting next week.
Beyond spring visits are the coveted official visits, where Wisconsin has seen a high amount of success with both their 2024 and 2025 class, bringing in their top targets to seal the deal in the summer.
Wisconsin is currently in the midst of building that official visit list, with quite a few targets already scheduling their trips to Madison. Well, one more may be on the way soon.
The Badgers extended an offer to 2026 three-star quarterback Travis Burgess on Tuesday, marking his first Big Ten offer.
After a great conversation with @CoachGuiton I am blessed to say I’ve received my first Big-10 offer from the University of Wisconsin @CoachSB_4theG @rkbarefield @QBCoach_Scott @CoachBeas @grayson_fb #4theG pic.twitter.com/7kRejvqTYQ

Burgess, who stands a towering 6’5, 200 pounds, has picked up two dozen offers, including from the likes of Auburn, Arizona State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Virginia Tech, among other schools.
While the Badgers are coming in late in the process, they’re already looking to schedule an official visit, according to 247Sports’s Evan Flood, adding another quarterback to their list of targets.
The Badgers recently scheduled an official visit with California three-star quarterback Ryan Hopkins for the final weekend of May, getting a top target back to campus.
But, they’re looking to add two quarterbacks in their 2026 class, and Burgess could be one of the options on that list. Wisconsin has also offered four-stars Bowe Bentley, Peyton Falzone, and Brodie McWhorter, but it’s unclear whether they’re at the top of the list for any of those targets.
Burgess could be a realistic option, but the Badgers are facing good competition for the quarterback. The Auburn Tigers and Duke Blue Devils both have official visits for the signal-caller already set up, and they’ve had interest for far longer than Wisconsin.
Still, it’s notable that Wisconsin is showing interest, extending the offer and quickly moving with hopes of setting up an official visit. We’ll see if that ultimately gets announced sooner than later.
