The former Badgers basketball legend is looking to make a return to the NBA.
Former Wisconsin Badgers basketball star Sam Dekker has enjoyed a lengthy professional career after three strong years in Madison, but hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2021 season.
Spending the last three years playing overseas, Dekker is looking to return back to the NBA, according to the Cap Times’s Mike Luca, and recently tried out for three NBA teams: the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks.
This comes after most recently playing for the London Lions in the British Basketball League (BBL), where Dekker averaged 18.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game en route to winning the league MVP last season.
Dekker, 30, has played in over 200 NBA games over his career, averaging 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.
Initially starting with the Houston Rockets in 2015, Dekker then played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, and Toronto Raptors over his six years in the NBA.
