Stein, a consensus five-star prospect by Kohl’s Kicking and Rubio Long Snapping in the Class of 2022, redshirted this past year after losing his starting job to Ashton Ngo.
He is expected to be on scholarship at Wisconsin, replacing graduate transfer Cayson Pfeiffer, who is out of eligibility.
Stein started 23 games as a freshman and sophomore at Arkansas, earning Freshman All-SEC honors in 2022 before being on the Peter Mannelly Award Watchlist in each of the past two seasons, which is handed out to the top long snapper in the nation.
Stein comes to Madison with two years of eligibility left, providing some stability on special teams.
He is one of 10 players who have already transferred to Wisconsin, joining quarterbacks Billy Edwards Jr. and Danny O’Neil, wide receiver Jayden Ballard, tight end Tanner Koziol, defensive linemen Corey Walker, Parker Peterson, and Charles Perkins, outside linebacker Mason Reiger, and safety Matthew Traynor.
