The Badgers are one of the biggest risers this week in the polls.
The Wisconsin Badgers are one of the biggest risers in this week’s AP Top 25 polls, moving up six spots from No. 24 to No. 18 after a pair of wins last week.
Wisconsin edged past Ohio State 70-68 last Tuesday, getting by a late Buckeyes run with some clutch free throws to move to 14-3 on the year.
Then, they beat USC 84-69, getting out to an early lead before finishing strong after the Trojans pushed back to cut the lead to one possession to win by double-digits.
Now, the Badgers stand at 15-3 and 5-2 in conference play, which is fourth in the Big Ten behind Michigan State (7-0), Purdue (7-1), and Michigan (6-1). They’re on a seven-game winning streak dating back to their mid-December win against Butler, and have proved they can get the job done in multiple ways.
John Blackwell has been a major spark over the past five games, scoring over 20 points three times, while being a go-to guy down the stretch of games.
Steven Crowl has also been a big factor as he had scored at least 14 points over the first six games of the win streak before scoring nine against USC on 75 percent from the field.
This week, the Badgers were the biggest riser in the AP Top 25, tying Purdue by jumping up six spots.
Overall, they are one of six Big Ten teams in the Top 25, joining Michigan State (No. 8), Purdue (No. 11), Oregon (No. 15), Illinois (No. 17), and Michigan (No. 21).
