The Badgers are still looking for an offensive tackle in the transfer portal.
The Wisconsin Badgers are remaining active in the spring transfer portal on the hunt for an offensive tackle after the loss of left tackle Kevin Heywood to a torn ACL.
Last week, the Badgers showed interest in South Dakota offensive tackle Joe Cotton, seen as the No. 1 tackle in the portal. They secured a visit with him, but never got the opportunity to court the transfer, as Cotton committed to Cincinnati after a visit there.
Now, they’re showing interest in South Alabama offensive tackle Jordan Davis, alongside a handful of teams, according to 247Sports.
In addition to Wisconsin, Davis has heard from UNC, Rutgers, UCF, West Virginia, Kansas, and Oklahoma State since entering the transfer portal.
Davis, entering his final year of eligibility, started his career at South Carolina, but entered the transfer portal after two years. He spent the last three seasons at South Alabama and is now heading elsewhere for his last season of college football.
Wisconsin has looked for an offensive tackle, needing both depth and a potential starter after the loss of Heywood earlier this month in spring ball. Since the injury, former Vanderbilt transfer Leyton Nelson has stepped into the left tackle spot, moving away from his swing tackle role.
