The Badgers may not be done at receiver just yet.
The Wisconsin Badgers picked up a big commitment on Wednesday, landing former Ohio State four-star wide receiver Jayden Ballard in the transfer portal.
Well, they may not be done just yet at the position, as they’re hosting Idaho transfer receiver Mark Hamper on an official visit Wednesday, hoping to land another player at the position.
Hamper was one of the most productive receivers in college football this past season, racking up 48 catches for 966 receivers and six touchdowns as a redshirt freshman for Idaho.
With Idaho head coach Jason Eck leaving for New Mexico, Hamper entered the transfer portal and could have a number of major suitors, as USC is expected to receive a visit as well later this week.
The Badgers lost wideouts C.J. Williams and Will Pauling to the transfer portal on Tuesday, creating a void at the position, as three of the top four receivers from the 2024 season are now gone.
While Ballard was a big addition to the room on the perimeter, Hamper could be another key starter at receiver, reshaping the wideout room with Vinny Anthony still in the fold.
That could create a strong top group of Ballard, Hamper, Anthony, and slot wideout Trech Kekahuna, providing the Badgers with a good rotation, as well as some positional versatility.
Anthony can play both inside and outside, while Hamper and Ballard have the size to stick on the perimeter.
