Official visit season has started for the Badgers with a top-priority target.
Official visit season is finally beginning for the Wisconsin Badgers, who are kicking things off by hosting 2026 four-star priority tight end Gavin Mueller this week.
Mueller will be on campus from April 23rd-26th, as the Badgers get the first crack at the four-star, looking to make a lasting impression as official visits start.
While most official visits are conducted during the last weekend of May and the month of June, Mueller is having his early, with the Badgers coming first this week.
After that, the tight end will head to Colorado for an official visit during the first weekend of May. Then comes an official visit to LSU the weekend after, which is the third of three visits currently planned for Mueller.
Mueller was on campus last month for an unofficial visit, and has had a busy spring, heading to Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Colorado, and Notre Dame as well over the last two months.
Wisconsin has been interested in a few tight ends in the 2026 cycle, but has long been in on Mueller, having offered him after a camp last June.
Since then, the 6’5, 255-pound tight end from Illinois has started to blow up nationally, with top Power 4 schools showing interest and pushing the Badgers.
The Badgers also have official visits planned with the following 2026 tight ends: Luke Sorensen (April 23rd), Jack Sievers (May 30th), Jack Janda (May 30th), and Dominick Barry (June 6th).
So, it’s plausible they get one or two of their targets at the position for the 2026 cycle. But, landing Mueller would be a big add to a young tight end room, and this week’s official visit would go a long way to helping that stance.
