The Badgers cornerback is looking for a quick resolution to the current transfer portal dispute.
The Wisconsin Badgers have been involved in a transfer portal dispute over the past few weeks with star freshman cornerback Xavier Lucas, who announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal back in the middle of December.
Lucas, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, had been a solid contributor for the Badgers at the boundary position this past season, and was expected to be a starter for the team next year.
However, after just one season with the program, Lucas announced his intentions to move on, with schools near his home state of Florida seeming like the teams to watch for his recruitment.
But, over two weeks later, Lucas has yet to officially enter the transfer portal, instead publicly sharing that the Badgers are blocking his request, despite filling out the requisite paperwork.
Well, the dispute took another step on Tuesday, as Darren Heitner, the founder of the law firm Heitner Legal, announced that Lucas has retained his firm for legal representation to deal with the situation.
This morning, Xavier Lucas retained @HEITNERLEGAL. I have contacted the NCAA demanding that it enforce its rules which require Mr. Lucas’ name to be entered into the transfer database. If Wisconsin doesn’t budge, then we will escalate this matter to litigation. https://t.co/nykzo1lt0I

The situation currently remains unresolved, but it seems unlikely at this stage that Lucas will return to Wisconsin next season with legal teams getting involved now.
