The Badgers are moving on from their 2026 quarterback commit.
The Wisconsin Badgers have some quarterback news, only it’s not necessarily what you expected.
The Badgers are moving on from 2026 three-star quarterback Jarin Mock, he announced on Tuesday as he opened up his recruitment.
After a brief conversation with Wisconsin they are no longer honoring my commitment. With that being said, my recruitment is 100% open.

Mock, a native of Pickerington, Ohio, had been committed to Wisconsin since late July and was their first pickup in the 2026 class after multiple visits to campus.
He was recruited by former offensive coordinator Phil Longo, and his future with Wisconsin was uncertain after the Badgers made a coaching change, replacing the lead assistant with Kansas’s Jeff Grimes for the same position.
After his recruitment, Mock had shared that he would wait to see what his future at Wisconsin held, and the two sides are seemingly moving forward as the Badgers evaluate their options in the 2026 class.
The Badgers currently have just three scholarship quarterbacks for the 2025 season: senior Billy Edwards, sophomore Danny O’Neil, and four-star freshman Carter Smith.
They could look to pick up another option ahead of the spring for more numbers, but will need at least one quarterback in the 2026 class, with a couple of options ahead of them.
The quarterback board could look much different for the Badgers in the junior cycle, as they have a new offensive coordinator and a different system, and the first move in that process was parting ways with Mock.
Mock will now fully open his recruitment, as he had five scholarship offers before committing to the Badgers.
