The Badgers swapped players in the transfer portal to fill a starting role
In a move that went under the radar this weekend, the Wisconsin Badgers added long snapper Nick Levy in the transfer portal for his final season of eligibility.
Levy, a senior in 2025, began his career at William & Mary, where he started all 24 games across two seasons as the long snapper. He was named a Freshman All-American by Stats Perform and Phil Steele Magazine.
Then, he transferred to Purdue for his junior season in 2024, where he was the Boilermakers long snapper for all 12 games, earning an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection by the coaches.
Now, Levy will spend his final season with the Badgers, jumping into the primary long snapper role. He was on campus this weekend for a visit prior to committing.
Wisconsin’s long snapper picture clouded up, as they had added former Arkansas long snapper Eli Stein in the transfer portal during the winter. But, with the addition of Levy, Stein entered the transfer portal on Tuesday and will move on with two years of eligibility remaining.
With Levy in the fold, Wisconsin has one of its special-teamers set. Atticus Bertrams is expected to resume his post as the punter, while the Badgers are holding a kicker competition between Nathanial Vakos and Gavin Lahm currently.
