The Wisconsin Badgers have been active in the transfer portal, and they could be nearing their first commitments soon.
The Badgers were listed as a finalist for Portland transfer center Austin Rapp, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Rapp was the WCC’s Freshman of the Year this season and was recently on a visit to Madison earlier this week.
Source: Portland transfer forward Austin Rapp is down to five schools (in no order):
Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Clemson, Oregon
The 6-10 freshman averaged 13.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Knocked down 83 threes this season, at a 35% clip. https://t.co/Fq9bRZCPqd pic.twitter.com/r9otRy7Kug

Other schools listed in the top five were Michigan, Iowa, Clemson, and Oregon.
A native of Melbourne, Australia, Rapp averaged 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for Portland this season, while shooting 35.2 percent from three.
Playing almost exclusively on the perimeter in 2024-25, Rapp took nearly 70 percent of his field goal attempts from beyond the arc, connecting at a high rate, which meshes well with Wisconsin’s offense.
The Badgers started Nolan Winter and Steven Crowl in the frontcourt together, two players who shot over 35 percent from beyond the arc this past season, so Rapp would be a welcome addition there.
An underrated factor is Rapp’s three years of remaining eligibility, which would provide Wisconsin with both a short and long-term solution in the frontcourt alongside Winter.
