The Badgers could be hitting the international pool very soon.
The Wisconsin Badgers have enjoyed a busy offseason, hitting on key targets early in the transfer portal, as they reload for the 2025-26 season.
On the high school recruiting front, the Badgers picked up a commitment from 2026 Australian guard Jackson Ball last month, continuing their focus on international recruits.
Well, the Badgers aren’t done yet, as they’ve been named as a contender for 19-year-old international prospect Elisèe Assui, who is currently the youngest player in Serie A playing for Varese, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.
Elisèe Assui, a 2006-born Italian and currently the youngest player in Serie A playing for Varese, has drawn interest from several high-major programs, including Wisconsin, Texas, Missouri, and Clemson, per source.

Numerous programs have shown interest in Assui, including Wisconsin, Texas, Missouri, and Clemson, as the 19-year-old is starting to show out overseas.
Since January, Assui has averaged 17.8 minutes, 5.4 points, and 3.0 rebounds per game, and he is expected to join the college ranks as early as next season.
The Badgers currently have three recruits in their 2025 class: four-star guard Zach Kinziger, three-star center Will Garlock, and three-star guard Hayden Jones.
They have the scholarship spots to add a fourth, and Assui could be an intriguing developmental wing with good size at 6’5, 215 pounds.
Wisconsin has thrived with development at the wing position, as players like Johnny Davis, A.J. Storr, and John Tonje have all seen breakout seasons at Wisconsin, and that has clearly been a selling point to recruits.
Can they do the same with Assui and find a way to land the coveted international prospect?
