One of the Badgers targets are off the board early.
The Wisconsin Badgers saw one of their 2026 targets come off the board on Friday, as four-star safety Matt Sieg committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Sieg, a top-200 recruit, had earned an offer from Wisconsin back in March and had been on campus, sharing that the Badgers were pretty high in his recruitment back in the summer.
“Yeah, I got to talk with most of the defensive staff and got to know what they like to do. They think I would fit in their defense really well. They think I could play a similar role like Hunter Wohler,” Sieg shared in June. “They stand up pretty high in my recruitment. The visit was definitely an eye-opener.”
But, the in-state appeal for Penn State was too much to pass down, as the Nittany Lions were able to secure a commitment from the safety early in the process.
Sieg had been on Penn State’s campus back in Week 2, sharing in August that Wisconsin, Penn State, and the USC Trojans were the schools pushing the hardest ahead of the season.
Now, with the four-star off the board, Wisconsin will look at some of their other targets as they look to start completing their 2026 recruiting class.
