The Badgers have their first official visit locked in for the summer.
The Wisconsin Badgers have secured an official visit with 2026 three-star defensive lineman Jake Johnson, he announced on Thursday.
Johnson, a native of Prosper, Texas, has been one of, if not the top interior defensive line target on Wisconsin’s board in the 2026 cycle.
He visited the Badgers back in November and was recently on campus for Wisconsin’s Junior Day, with an official visit now set for the first weekend of the summer.
The Badgers were one of Johnson’s early offers, as defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow has been committed to developing a relationship with the three-star, and it seems those dividends are paying off with strong mutual interest.
Johnson, who stands at 6’2, 290 pounds, has over two dozen offers, including ones from in-state schools SMU, TCU, Baylor, Houston, North Texas, Texas Tech, and UTSA.
Wisconsin had an overhaul at the defensive line position this offseason, adding Torin Pettaway, Xavier Ukponu, Drayden Pavey, and Jaylen Williams in their 2025 class, while bringing in Jay’Viar Suggs, Parker Peterson, Corey Walker, Charles Perkins, and Micheal Garner via the transfer portal.
Now, they are looking to get their first recruit at the position in the 2026 class, and Johnson could be that recruit for the Badgers if all things continue to go well.
