The Badgers had the talented 2026 offensive lineman back on campus for a visit recently.
The Wisconsin Badgers hosted 2026 offensive lineman Benjamin Eziuka for a visit earlier this month, as the Michigan native camped with the team for a day.
What was the day like for the talented lineman who Wisconsin has taken an interest in early on?
“Today was just mostly about getting Coach Blazek to see me move, my fundamentals, my footwork, all that stuff, and how I move as a player. I felt like I showed that off pretty well today,” Eziuka said.
Watching Eziuka at camp, it’s clear that he can move with some authority, but also nimbleness with his feet. I especially thought his get-off stood out among his peers at the camp.
How has he worked on that aspect and developed as a player overall?
“Yeah, I drill [my get-off] for probably ten minutes anytime I work out, just straight get off, a lot of inside footwork, movement, all that. I feel like I improved on my run-blocking a lot last year. We were a really heavy run team last year, so it gave me a good chance to get a lot of game film and game work in that department.”
“So before, I felt like I was a lot heavier of a pass protector, but I feel like I evened out my game a lot more this year.”
Next up, the lineman is looking to continue improving his run-game technique in order to become a better all-around player.
“[As for improvements,] definitely just keeping my head up in the run game, see what I’m hitting, not being too aggressive and also bringing the power, all that stuff, trusting my family a little more in pass protection, not leaning, all that stuff, just becoming a better all-around player.”
A number of schools have already started to take notice of the 2026 offensive lineman, with Eziuka earning nine offers thus far, with others showing regular interest.
What has the feeling been like this year as his recruitment has begun to take off?
“It feels good. I’ve been working at this hard since I was in like 7th grade, so it’s really nice to see it all coming together and seeing a lot of big schools like Wisconsin take interest in me because I’ve always liked this school.”
“The school’s always been one that I’ve always wanted to get an offer and possibly play for. So this one, seeing a lot of interest from Wisconsin means a lot to me.”
It’s been a busy summer for the 6’3, 290-pounder, as he camped at six different schools: Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Michigan.
Next up, it’ll be gameday visits in the fall before Junior Day comes along next January.
Will Wisconsin be one of those schools that Eziuka plans to take visits to?
“Oh yeah, for sure. I’m definitely gonna get down here for a game in the fall. Yeah, I was planning on it last year. Just kind of didn’t get the transportation settled out. So this year, definitely gonna pre-plan that a lot more.”
