16 of the 27 games on national television have at least one ranked team involved, and that’s pretty good.
There’s a lot of ranked team in action on national television today. 16 of the 27 nationally televised games have at least one ranked team involved, and that includes one of the two women’s games on TV today.
But, somehow, there’s only two games with two ranked teams squaring off. Then again I suppose when you start doubling up ranked teams, then you can only have 12 men’s games with two ranked teams, huh?
Anyway, the headliners for the day on national television start with #17 Texas A&M tangling with #11 Purdue in a not-really-neutral site game at the Indiana Pacers arena in Indianapolis. The only thing stopping it from being a true home game for Purdue is the fact that it’s a doubleheader event with #20 Wisconsin playing Butler on the other side.
The other ranked-on-ranked is even less of a neutral site game, as #8 Gonzaga heads to New York and Madison Square Garden to face #18 Connecticut. That’s going to be a pretty interesting test of “how back is UConn anyway?” after they picked up wins over Baylor and Texas last week.
There’s actually a ton of neutral site games on TV today, with State Farm Center in Atlanta hosting a big event, a doubleheader going on up at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, a doubleheader in Florida tangentially connected to the Orange Bowl, and a couple of other one-off games. One of the more unique ones? Oklahoma State and #13 Oklahoma tangling at the OKC Thunder arena in Oklahoma City instead of in an on-campus building.
As always, there’s way way more stuff that’s streaming only, including the Xavier/Cincinnati rivalry game. If you stumble across a good one, drop a note in the comment section so everyone can tune in!
