No. 15 Marquette men’s basketball (4-0) is back at Fiserv Forum Tuesday night for a battle of top 15 teams between itself and No. 6 Purdue.
The Boilermakers haven’t lost a non-conference regular season contest since December 2020. The Golden Eagles have lost the squads’ last two matchups, falling 75-78 in the championship game of last year’s Maui Invitational, then again two years ago at Mackey Arena in the Gavitt Tipoff Games 70-75.
Both teams are coming off big wins in its previous matchup, with Marquette winning in College Park, Maryland against the Terrapins Friday night, 78-74. Guard Kam Jones finished with 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting. On the flip side, Purdue took home a win against No. 2 Alabama on Friday night as well, 87-79. Trey Kaufman-Renn finished with a career-high 26 points, also pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
The Golden Eagles are also searching for their first win at home against a ranked opponent since they took down No. 22 Creighton on Dec. 30, 2023.
