DePaul gets a boost from former LIU forward Eral Penn, plus a handful of new offers from throughout the Big East.
DePaul is getting a boost from Eral Penn, who’s set to join the Blue Demons as a graduate transfer. He was one of the top players for the Sharks last season. Here’s a look at all of the action on the recruiting trail and in the transfer portal from last week:
Incoming transfers
- Former LIU forward Eral Penn is headed to DePaul as a graduate transfer. He averaged 17.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks per game with the Sharks last season.
Non-Big East commitments:
- Four-star 2023 forward Gai Chol (South Sudan/Greenforest McCalep Christian) committed to Mississippi State. A couple days before committing, he trimmed his list to seven schools and removed all Big East schools (had St. John’s and Xavier offers) from consideration.
New offers:
- 2025 guard Mikel Brown Jr. (Orlando, Fla./Sunrise Christian Academy) received an offer from Seton Hall.
- Four-star 2024 forward Isaiah Evans (Huntersville, N.C./North Mecklenburg) received an offer from Georgetown.
- 2023 forward Drew Fielder (Boise, Idaho/Southern California Academy) received an offer from Providence.
- Three-star 2023 center Michael Nwoko (Sugar Land, Texas/Prolific Prep) received an offer from Seton Hall.
- 2025 forward Chris Nwuli (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) received an offer from St. John’s.
- 2024 forward Caleb Williams (Washington, D.C./Sidwell Friends School) received an offer from Georgetown.
Other notes:
- If you notice an error, have news of a new offer, please feel free to tip me off—or Big East Coast Bias—on Twitter: @becb_sbn and @erapay5. I’ll update accordingly.
- Shoutout to Anonymous Eagle, Casual Hoya, Banners on the Parkway, Rumble in the Garden, The UConn Blog, and VU Hoops. We unfortunately don’t have articles on all recruits, but we got some help in filling some blanks from our fellow Big East SB Nation sites. Some recruits have clickable names, which will take you to a relevant article regarding that player.
- I recommend viewing the spreadsheet externally, since you’ll be able to use things like filters (Google Sheets has that option on the top-left, next to the print button.) and Ctrl+F (Apple+F if you’re on Mac) to help make searching for recruits easier. You’ll also have a bigger screen/window to look at the spreadsheet: Big East Offer Tracker, last updated July 11, 2022. Alternatively, you may view below.
