Tracking the larger sentiments of Bucks fans week by week
That’s right: the Tuesday Tracker is back for another year! If you’re new around here, it’s pretty simple. Each week, we ask you a slate of questions. Some are the same week-to-week, some change, some leave and then come back later. If there’s anything you think we should poll fans about, leave us some suggestions in the comments.
A road-heavy, hard schedule and some small steps forward made last night against the defending champs, but the good vibes of last Wednesday’s Bucks opener in Philly were pretty well doused by Sunday evening. There is a lot to unpack from Milwaukee’s last three games and we’ll be trying to make sense of some of it in the coming days. But suffice it to say that while it’s probably too early to make sweeping judgments—if only because Khris Middleton hasn’t yet played—about the team this year, at least in terms of their title contention status, their start hasn’t been encouraging.
Of course, their schedule isn’t getting easier yet. The Grizzlies are now healthy and waiting for the Bucks in Memphis on Thursday (as if their injuries made any difference last year when these two teams faced off) and the Cavs remain undefeated for a home-and-home starting two days later. The tank-tastic Jazz come before the Bucks visit the Knicks next Friday, but after the effort against the Nets, we can’t take any teams for granted right now. Milwaukee showed signs of breaking out of their early mini-slump, and we can’t dismiss how crisp they looked on opening night; the task is now making their default vibe in every game one of a clear winner. Prior to last season, that wouldn’t have been an issue. Now it feels incumbent on the top of the roster to make that happen in ways they never needed to before.
In this week’s Tuesday Tracker, we’ll take your temperature on Khris Middleton’s ankle surgery recovery, the defense, Giannis’ start, and Bobby Portis. We also touch on some early transactional considerations, with an option decision for MarJon Beauchamp due later this week.
As always, this poll will be open until midnight Central on Friday, and we’ll post the results later that day. Thanks for voting!
