Tracking the larger sentiments of Bucks fans week by week
Since returning to the rotation with a typical minute load following a two-game absence due to back spasms, Gary Trent Jr. is shooting a sizzling .563/.595/1.000 on eight attempts per game. He’s been in double figures for six straight on the backs of 6.2 three-point attempts per game, good for 13 PPG over that stretch. Though he’s not starting, his 27.3 MPG is fifth on the team behind four members of the starting lineup (Brook Lopez, Giannis, Damian Lillard, and Taurean Prince) and four minutes more than Bobby Portis, the next guy.
The nominal starting two guard entering the season, his first eight games as a Buck underwhelmed, shooting under 50% from the floor in all but one. He’s now raised both his FG% and 3P% just above 40% from their nadir of 29.5% and 23.1%, respectively, just two weeks ago. He’s given plenty of offense in reserve units, now up to 9.1 PPG. The question is: does this merit a return to the starting five? Or, now that their record is improving, should Milwaukee not fix something that isn’t broken?
In this week’s Tuesday Tracker, we ask you about the Bucks’ defense, their rotation, and whether or not Doc Rivers is to be believed that Khris Middleton will play this week. We also want to know if you think Giannis is getting his due in early MVP discussion.
As always, this poll will be open until midnight Central on Friday, and we’ll post the results later that day. Thanks for voting!
