Could we be witnessing the end of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s run with the Milwaukee Bucks?
During this Tuesday’s edition of “Get Up,” ESPN insider Brian Windhorst teased that Antetokounmpo could leave Milwaukee if the team gets bounced in the first round of the playoffs.
“If they go down in the first round again, I’m not sure where Giannis is going to be,” Windhorst said.
This might be considered premature, but let’s discuss three teams that should consider trading for Antetokounmpo.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls are good enough to make the play-in tournament, but not good enough to actually make any noise in the postseason. If they’re willing to move on from Zach LaVine and a plethora of draft picks, they could potentially make a run at Antetokounmpo.
For what it’s worth, “The Greek Freak” said a few years ago that he’d love to play for Chicago.
“It’s a team that won multiple championships; it’s a team that one of the greatest players, if not the greatest player to ever play this game, played for,” Antetokounmpo said. “So it’s a no-brainer; everybody would love to play for Chicago.”
Golden State Warriors
It seems the Warriors have hit their ceiling with their current roster. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green still have moments where they shine, but Steph Curry needs a better co-star.
If Antetokounmpo wants out of Milwaukee, why not force your way to Golden State? He’d get to play for a winning organization without having to worry about carrying the offense every game.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets haven’t exactly won blockbuster trades in the past, but that shouldn’t stop them from swinging for the fences. For starters, they have a huge contract they can move to match Antetokounmpo’s. They also have a plethora of first-round picks from 2025-2029.
The Bucks can stockpile picks and focus on the future, while the Nets try to rebuild their team around Antetokounmpo.
