The small moves keep coming
It’s a small move, but a move nonetheless. After signing Henry Ellenson to an Exhibit 10 deal yesterday, the Bucks did the same today with Justise Winslow:
The Bucks continue to make changes at the bottom of their roster.
The Bucks waived James Akinjo and signed Justise Winslow to an Exhibit 10 contract, per a league source. @MikeAScotto first on the Winslow signing.

Remember, this is all sort of a roster shuffle, as the Bucks near the roster limit of 18 going into the season (15 standard spots, three two-ways).
I’m sure like it did for me, the name Justise Winslow sent shivers down your spine. Much like the time when Milwaukee brought Grayson Allen in, Winslow was a part of the 2015 NCAA Championship team at Duke that knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers in the National Championship game (you have NO idea how hard that was for me to type).
Winslow was selected by the Miami Heat as the tenth overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. That year, he earned NBA All-Rookie second team honors. He stayed in South Beach through the 2020 season. From there, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team trade featuring Minnesota. However, he’d miss the entirety of the season following a hip injury.
In 2021, Winslow signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. In February of the following year, he was dealt away alongside old friend Eric Bledsoe, Keon Johnson and a 2025 second-round pick to the Portland Trailblazers for Norman Powell and Robert Covington. He then experienced a series of issues with his ankle, resulting in him missing the remainder of the season. Since then, he’s been with the Raptors 905, Toronto’s G-League team.
We’ll see how things shake out as we continue to get closer to the season opener, but don’t be surprised with some more moves similar to this.
And yes, Justise touched it.
UPDATE: Well, that didn’t last long. As they’re trying to slice down the roster and get players on the G-League team, the Bucks have made two more moves, including one with the Marquette product and Wisconsin native Henry Ellenson:
And looking at the league’s official transaction sheet, the Bucks have waived Justise Winslow and Henry Ellenson.
Pretty typical of the sign-and-waives that occur at the end of preseason to get players to a G-League roster. https://t.co/pLjwTqqekn
