During Game 6 between the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers, veteran guard Patrick Beverley was caught throwing a basketball at a spectator. It was a rough look for him.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, a spectator taunted Beverley by shouting “Cancun on three.”
Beverley has finally addressed this incident on the latest edition of “The Pat Bev Pod with Rone.”
What’s interesting is that Beverley said the report about a fan shouting “Cancun on three” was only partially true.
“It was an unfortunate situation that should have never happened. What I did was bad. That should’ve never happened. I have to be better and I will be better,” Beverley said. “Regardless of what was said, that should have never happened – simple as that. Let’s just say it was more than ‘Cancun on three.’ I’ve been called a lot of stuff in this league, but I haven’t been called that one.”
Beverley also said some people at Game 6 “took things too far.”
For the most part, Beverley took accountability for this actions. To be honest though, he really had no other choice.
The NBA is looking into Beverley’s wild exchange with this Indiana fan. Most fans believe the league should discipline him in some capacity.
