Think this possession is a good representation of how the Wolves want to guard Dallas
– McDaniels-Doncic; Edwards-Irving; Conley-Jones; Towns-Washington; Gobert-Gafford
– Have McDaniels provide pressure full
– KAT up to touch in ball screen action
– Rudy also up, but maybe not pic.twitter.com/lR4wrbjEcy – 8:49 PM

Sam Hinkie traded away Artūras Gudaitis, + Luka Mitrović for a great swap (Jayson Tatum was selected) and a key 1st (Romeo Langford selected).
Of course the Colangelos sent it all to Bos for Markelle Fultz, and later Bos traded Langford for Derrick White while keeping Tatum. – 9:47 PM

More on this storyline
DaRon Holmes: “I like guys like Naz Reid, Al Horford, Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon. I take different things from different guys. Defensively, Draymond Green because he’s not the biggest, fastest, or strongest, but he’s smart. He knows how to play in pick-and-roll coverage and uses his mouth to be vocal.” -via HoopsHype / May 21, 2024
Dane Moore: Mike Conley when asked if he thinks the lack of deep playoff runs in his career has led to him flying under the radar for much of his career: “Possibly. We always, my teams have always kinda ran into that wall in the first, second round. We’d end up playing against Jokic or the Spurs or somebody and they’d knock us out. We were just never able to get over that hump. So that could be one thing. Postseason success is so big for people and their view of how you are as a player, if you’re a winner or not. I’ve always tried to play winning basketball, but this year I’m trying to also do that and actually win at the same time.” -via Twitter @DaneMooreNBA / May 21, 2024
This quote is from a feature published on opening night about the Nuggets’ hopes of building a dynasty. There was real optimism that Nikola Jokic could power the Nuggets to back-to-back titles, making them the first team to do it since the Warriors did it in 2017 and 2018. Denver was the clear favorite to win it all again, despite losing two key rotation players in Bruce Brown and Jeff Green to free agency. But only rookies and journeyman vets were added to plug in the gaps. With the new collective bargaining agreement presenting massive team-building challenges for teams that are well over the luxury tax, adding young players felt like a reasonable approach. But the Nuggets’ lack of depth was the one hole critics could poke in its case to run it back. -via The Ringer / May 21, 2024
