Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was unable to add another championship ring to his résumé this past season. He did, however, receive a wedding ring this summer.
It was reported this Tuesday that Antetokounmpo got married to his longtime girlfriend, Mariah Riddlesprigger, during Labor Day weekend.
Greek news outlet Proto Thema reported that Antetokounmpo and Riddlesprigger got married at the Costa Navarino resort. Their wedding was apparently a “hybrid ceremony” since he’s Greek Orthodox and she’s Catholic.
Here’s more information from Proto Thema:
After about a decade of relationship and three children, 4-year-old Liam, 3-year-old Maverick, and 11-month-old Eva, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Mariah Riddlesprigger will exchange vows of eternal faith and love before God and people on August 31. Or almost. According to reliable sources, it will not be a religious wedding – the “Greek Freak” is Orthodox, and his beloved is Catholic – nor a civil one but a hybrid ceremony where the two partners will commit to spending the rest of their lives together, taking place on the afternoon of August 31 on the beach of the “W” hotel at Costa Navarino. The chosen location was not by chance, as it meets the non-negotiable requirement set by the couple, which is to keep their wedding away from media and social media. At least without their consent.
Unsurprisingly, a plethora of marquee names attended Antetokounmpo’s wedding. It was reported that LeBron James was invited.
Antetokounmpo and Riddlesprigger have been together since 2014. They have three children together – two boys and a girl.
Antetokounmpo won’t have much time to enjoy married life before he returns to the hardwood.
The Bucks will begin their 2024-25 season on Oct. 23 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
