Milwaukee Bucks star Patrick Beverley lost his cool last night and might wind up losing a lot more after chucking a basketball and hitting an unsuspecting fan in the head.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the NBA is investigating Beverley’s exchange with fans and an incident that happened in the locker room after the game with a reporter who he admonished for “not subscribing” to his podcast. Per the report, the exchange with a fan began when someone yelled “Cancun… Cancun on three” amid a series-ending loss to the Indiana Pacers.
“Sources: The exchange between Patrick Beverley and one of the fans in Indianapolis escalated when the Bucks were breaking huddle Thursday night, and the fan yelled, “Cancún…Cancún on 3.” NBA is looking into Beverley’s exchange with fans in game and media postgame, per source,” Charania wrote.
Fans are stunned that Beverley would lose his cool over something so benign as that. Just about everyone in Charania’s comments are roasting Beverley for acting out like that:
“This is even worse for the Pat Bev situation. The dude talks about getting under peoples skin all the time and playing that mental game, but he can’t take a jab like that? Yeah there is a reason this dude has bounced from team to team,” one user declared.
“So, in other words, the fan did exactly what a fan is expected to do. Nothing threatening. Nothing obscene. Nothing derogatory. Just normal fan behavior,” another pointed out.
“Pat Bev is even softer than any of us could imagine,” a third declared.
Beverley could really be in for a world of hurt from the NBA if this report proves to be the truth.
