The surging Bucks take on the sliding Sixers.
If the last three games are any indication, the Milwaukee Bucks might not lose another game this season, even if what’s left of the incoming Philadelphia 76ers would beg to differ. The Bucks won the first matchup way back in the first game of the season—ah, the halcyon days of expectations unbridled by reality.
Where We’re At
We are so back! A Debbie Downer might chalk up the Bucks’ three-game win streak to lame excuses like “home court advantage” and “lack of quality opposition,” but I’ll be a Positive Patty instead: the Kings were on a seven-game win streak, the Magic are scrappy albeit short-handed, the Raptors… well, they’re bad. But in a return to Bud Era Bucks, the Bucks absolutely throttled their opponents from the jump, only briefly playing with their food en route to big double-digit victories. A noticeably flowing offense paired with solid defense has vaulted the Bucks into firmer possession of fourth place in the East. They’ll look to close out this homestand a perfect four for four.
Ah, the Sixers. Relevance was in their grasp until 2025, when they decided to lose eight of ten, with wins against the Nets and the Wizards. Don’t fear today’s TikTok ban, for content springs eternal at our partner site Liberty Ballers: It’s OK to feel sympathetic for Tyrese Maxey. The Sixers’ tanking situation explained. Hubris helped contribute to the Sixers’ downfall this year. (Don’t miss the dek on that last one.) Their algorithm knows me to a T.
Injury Report
Andre Jackson Jr. will return to the court tonight after missing a game with a hip contusion, but AJ Green will sit with a quad strain. Giannis and Khris are available after being previously listed as probable, while MarJon (illness) was downgraded from probable to out.
The Sixers released their injury report at around 1:30 local time this afternoon. Joel Embiid, Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, KJ Martin, and Jared McCain are all out as expected. However, a surprise addition was center Andre Drummond, who started last night in Indiana. Guerschon Yabusele and Paul George sat out for that one too, but are questionable tonight. We’ll have an update on them in the game thread.
Player To Watch
I’ll be watching Maxey to gauge my sympathy anyway, so I’ll pick AJax (assuming he suits up) to have a bounce-back game defending the Sixers’ primary scorer.
