The Bucks return home to face the struggling Sixers.
The Milwaukee Bucks return home to face the Philadelphia 76ers in a Sunday matinee. After winning the first two matchups in the series, the Bucks will look to keep the upper hand. They’ll visit Philly once more at the tail-end of the season.
Where We’re At
A disappointing performance in Atlanta followed a heartening performance in Charlotte, with both games sans Giannis (although both opposing squads were also quite depleted). Ten consecutive three-point makes couldn’t be parlayed into a win against the Hawks, while a team effort pushed Milwaukee past the Hornets. Much ado can be made about Kyle Kuzma’s debut, but Bobby Portis’ return eclipsed it. Big Bob averaged 24.5 points, 16 rebounds, 5.5 assists, two blocks, and a steal in these games, following his absence for personal reasons. Khris “Khash Money” Middleton may be gone, but perhaps the third star was here all along—Bobby “House Money” Portis, anyone?
Most recently, the Sixers couldn’t recover from a dreadful first half in a loss to the Cade Cunningham-less Detroit Pistons. More poetically, they laid an egg. Their Big Three returned, though, which is good news despite the L. Overall, Philadelphia have dropped four out of five to mostly decent opposition (Denver, Boston, Dallas, and Miami besides Detroit). They made several moves on the margins before the trade deadline, which you can review here. A notable addition was Quentin Grimes, which they graded well, while they subtracted KJ Martin, which they graded… not so well (as a teacher, I’d love to know what percentage an F with nine minus signs translates to).
Injury Report
Giannis remains out with a left calf strain. Meanwhile, Pat Connaughton is questionable after missing the last game, also with a left calf strain (hmm…). And I regret to inform that Liam Robbins is questionable, with a right groin strain.
For the Sixers, Joel Embiid is… drumroll please… questionable, for left knee injury management. Jared McCain is out of course (left knee meniscus surgery), while Guerschon Yabusele is probable (right knee soreness) and Paul George is available (left finger splint).

Bobby! Bobby! Bobby!
(If you overthink it, you might conclude that Khris’ game just didn’t sync with Bobby’s. Now unshackled, the 6MOY campaign begins in earnest.)
