The Bucks try for their third straight against a battered Magic squad
The Milwaukee Bucks take on the bruised Orlando Magic to see if they can win three straight games. This will be the second time these teams have played this season, with the first coming in that crazy NBA Cup quarterfinal. The Bucks pulled that one out behind 37 points from Giannis and 28 from Dame, including some major clutch shooting.
Where We’re At
Milwaukee has started to get back on track after their horrific skid. Following the Portland Trail Blazers loss, the Bucks put beatdowns on the Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs. Over their last two games, Milwaukee’s offensive rating ranks third in the NBA and their assist percentage ranks fifth. Their three-point makes and percentages both rank first. Put simply, the Bucks have gotten back to moving the ball and having fun.
Despite their injuries, Orlando has been able to keep their heads above water primarily due to their defence remaining elite (ranked second on the season). With that said, the Magic recently lost Jalen Suggs (as well!) to a back injury and have dropped two of their last three games. They hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves last night and struggled to a 104-89 defeat.
Injury Report
For Milwaukee, Giannis (right patella tendinopathy), Dame (left calf contusion), and Khris (bilateral ankle surgery management) are all probable. Ryan Rollins is listed as questionable (non-Covid illness).
Orlando will submit an injury report by 1:00 p.m. local time due to their back-to-back. The following players were out for their game last night: Franz Wagner, Mo Wagner, Jalen Suggs, Gary Harris, and Paolo Banchero. However, Chris Haynes reported that Banchero WILL return tonight after being sidelined for over two months with a torn right oblique.
Player To Watch
AJ Green has been lighting it up of late. Over his last three games, Green is averaging 13.3 points on 54.5% from three. Even with a defensive stud like Suggs likely out, AJ having another hot shooting night will go a long way to loosen up the Magic’s rugged interior defence.
