I wonder if LeBron packed for this.
We are starting to settle into preseason basketball, as the Milwaukee Bucks will play their second game against the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Fiserv Forum crowd will potentially see plenty of stars in action.
Where We’re At
Preseason is an exciting time of year. A team like Milwaukee is almost a known quantity. Giannis Antetokounmpo is awesome, Damian Lillard is an elite scorer, Brook Lopez will be the anchor of the defense, and Bobby Portis will look to be the focal point of the bench unit. You mainly hope to see promise and potential in the younger players or a new wrinkle from a vet. The Bucks had their first preseason game against the Detroit Pistons, and the final score doesn’t tell the full story. Early in the game, Damian Lillard looked like the Dame of old, with his scoring coming easily. The Bucks led after the first quarter and only trailed at two by halftime. But when the end of bench players entered in the second half, that is when things snowballed for the Bucks. Without Giannis and Khris Middleton and limited minutes from other notable players, there isn’t much to draw from this game. Bucks fans will hope for a better showing from players like AJ Johnson, Tyler Smith, and Andre Jackson Jr.
For some reason, the Lakers are playing six preseason games and have played two of them so far, losing both games to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns. LeBron James and Anthony Davis didn’t play against the Timberwolves, but both did suit up against the Suns. One does have to wonder if LeBron will be in a sour mood tonight.
Can someone please explain to me why we’re getting on a ✈️ and heading to Milwaukee for 1 pre-season game!?!?

Injury Report
The good news on the injury front is that Gary Trent Jr. is listed as day-to-day and will not need an MRI for his elbow. He hopes to play this evening. Khris Middleton is recovering from his ankle surgery over the summer and will not play tonight but could be back by the end of preseason.
For the Lakers, Jarred Vanderbilt (foot surgery), Christian Wood (knee surgery), Cam Reddish (ankle soreness), and Christian Koloko (not cleared by NBA protocols) figure to be out.
Player To Watch
Bronny James is under a lot of scrutiny and eyes this season. Being LeBron’s son is tough enough, but being on the same team as him adds another layer to the dynamic. We also don’t know what type of player he is or will be, so it’ll be nice to get a glimpse of that tonight.
How To Watch
Bally Sports WI or NBATV at 7:00 PM CDT.
Editor’s note: as usual, there are no game threads in the preseason. This post functions both as the game preview and thread.
