It’s the 25th time in his career he’s earned this honor
The accolades continue to grow for the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he’s been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week:

This is the 25th time Antetokounmpo has earned this honor in his career and the second time this season.
You can see why this was earned by Giannis. The Bucks went a perfect 4-0 on their homestand with him leading the way. In that stretch, averaged 32.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game while shooting 66.7% from the field.
Antetokounmpo is averaging a league-high-tying 31.5 points, 12.0 rebounds (5th in NBA), and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 60.5% from the field (T-8th in NBA) this season.
Additionally, he has quite the double-double streak going. He’s currently at 13 straight, which is the second-longest active streak in the NBA this season and the third-longest of his career.
Looking ahead, Antetokounmpo is on pace to tally the second season in NBA history with 30+ points on 60% shooting, after he became the first player in league history to reach those figures in a season in 2023-24.
The Bucks will need Antetokounmpo to keep these types of performances up moving forward, especially as they inch closer to the All-Star break. Taking a peek at their schedule, nine of their final 13 games are on the road until the break.
