It’s the Greek Freak’s ninth consecutive appearance
For the ninth consecutive season, Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named an All-Star starter.
Antetokounmpo continues to post ridiculous numbers this season. He’s currently averaging 31.5 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, and six assists per game — all while shooting a ridiculously efficient 60% from the field. He has also been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week two times so far this season. Antetokounmpo is also on pace to tally the second season in NBA history with 30+ points on 60% shooting, after he became the first player in league history to reach those figures in a season in 2023-24.
Other starters in East include Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
It’s easy to grow numb to his greatness at this point, but man — nine consecutive seasons in a row is quite the accomplishment. However, Giannis keeps scratching out greatness. He’s inching towards another record, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the record for most consecutive All-Star appearances for a Milwaukee Buck with 11 of them.
Remember, this year’s All-Star Game will feature a mini-tournament with four teams and three games. Two teams will meet in one semifinal (Game 1), and the remaining two teams will meet in the other semifinal (Game 2). The winning teams from Game 1 and Game 2 will advance to face each other in the championship (Game 3). For each game, the winner will be the first team to reach or surpass 40 points.
The NBA All-Star Game reserves will be revealed on January 30 on TNT. This year’s All-Star game is Sunday, February 16 at 5 p.m. CST. Stay locked in to Brew Hoop for any further Milwaukee Bucks involvement this All-Star weekend in San Francisco.
