The Milwaukee Bucks stunned the NBA community this Tuesday, firing head coach Adrian Griffin after a 30-13 start to the season.
Griffin was hired by the Bucks last offseason to replace Mike Budenholzer. It’s unclear what happened behind the scenes that led to Milwaukee making yet another change at head coach.
Once it was announced that Griffin has been fired, NBA fans rushed to X to offer their thoughts on this move. The majority of them are stunned the Bucks would move on from their coach when they’re the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

One person said, “Adrian Griffin must’ve been on some Ime Udoka timing because why would the Bucks fire him when they’re 30-13 as the #2 seed in his 1st season there?”

“The Bucks just fired their head coach and they’re 30-13,” a third fan wrote. “While the Lakers keep backing a coach who has them at 22-22. This NBA is so weird, bruh.”

Bucks assistant Joe Prunty is expected to take over as the team’s interim coach for this Wednesday’s game against the Cavaliers.
There’s no telling how long Prunty will be Milwaukee’s interim coach, especially since the front office reportedly has interest in longtime coach Doc Rivers.
Regardless if the Bucks hire Rivers or not, they’ll be dealing with “championship or bust” expectations for the rest of the season. That’s just how it is when you’re top two players are Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
