Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley received a lot of criticism for his interaction with ESPN producer Malinda Adams on Thursday night.
Beverley refused to answer questions from Adams because she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast.
On Friday afternoon, Front Office Sports reported that ESPN banned Beverley from appearing on its top shows, such as “First Take” and “Get Up.”
Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal then reported that Beverley has not been banned from appearing on ESPN’s shows.
Moments ago, ESPN finally addressed these conflicting reports.
“There was an erroneous report that suggested Patrick Beverley was banned from appearing on ESPN,” the statement read. “He isn’t banned and never was.”
Well, there you have it. Beverley is allowed to appear on ESPN’s shows as long as he’s invited.
For what it’s worth, Adams said Beverley reached out to her and apologized.
“I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support,” Adams wrote on X. “I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in news for over 40 years and kindness and grace always win.”
If Beverley makes an appearance on ESPN this offseason, there’ll certainly be some fans who’ll voice their disapproval.
