Doc Rivers will coach the Eastern Conference in the All-Star Game after the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Dallas Mavericks 129-117 on Saturday night.
It was Rivers’ first win as the coach of the Bucks.
Doc Rivers told Marc Stein of The Stein Line earlier in the day that he will give his All-Star Game share and ring to Adrian Griffin should he coach the Eastern Conference.
“That is ridiculously bad. It really is. Well, Adrian’s going to get some money, that’s for sure. And a ring. It’s one of these quirky things. I think there should be a rule somehow that someone else does it other than me,” said Rivers after the game.
The Bucks are in second place in the East, currently trailing the Celtics. However, due to the Riley Rule, Joe Mazzulla is ineligible to coach the East this year.
