Doc Rivers has only been the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks for about 24 hours, but he’s already assembling an intriguing staff.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski just reported that Rivers is adding longtime assistant coach Rex Kalamian to his staff for the remainder of the season.
Kalamian has worked with the Clippers, Nuggets, Timberwolves and Thunder among other NBA teams. Prior to getting hired by the Bucks, he was working as a pro player personnel scout for the Nets.
Rivers and Kalamian worked together on the Clippers from 2018-2020.

Kalamian isn’t the only notable coach joining forces with Rivers in Milwaukee.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Bucks are also adding former Grizzlies and Kings head coach Dave Joerger to their staff.

Rivers is replacing Adrian Griffin, who went 30-13 before being let go.
There will be a ton of pressure on Rivers’ shoulders since Milwaukee is in “win-now” mode. He’ll have a chance to make a strong first impression tonight when the Bucks face the Cavaliers at home.
