Milwaukee Bucks star Patrick Beverley has found himself in some hot water after last night’s series-losing game to the Indiana Pacers when he threw a basketball into a group of fans sitting behind the team – twice.
At one point during yesterday’s game, Beverley appeared to get into some sort of argument with someone in the rows behind the Bucks. He retaliated by throwing a ball into the area, accidentally hitting a woman in the head who was watching the game. When the ball was thrown back to him, Beverley threw it again.
As the NBA on TNT crew broke down the incident, Charles Barkley admonished the Bucks star for his behavior. He said that Beverley will likely get suspended for that incident and found the behavior unacceptable for an 18-year-old, let alone a 12-year NBA veteran.
“Listen, I’ve done stupid stuff and I got criticized. That’s just wrong. He’s gonna get suspended for that. And that’s gonna be a good one, too. ‘Cause he didn’t do it once. He did it twice,” Barkley said.
Beverley has since taken to social media, not to apologize, but to describe the situation as “not fair” because there was an unresolved situation going on between the team and a fan.
“Not Fair at all. Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We warned and asked for help all night. Not fair,” Beverley wrote on X.
We’ll see what the NBA has to say about the situation. Chances are, it’ll be a lot.
