We kick off our “Season Preview Series” of interviews with some special guests!
The past few months have been for cooling heels, both for the Milwaukee Bucks and for the beautiful minds behind the ongoing project Deer Diaries (A Milwaukee Bucks Podcast!). With September upon us and the 2024-2025 NBA regular season just a month and a half away, though, we felt it was time to shake off the rust and get down to the serious business of AV recordings.
Given the stakes of the team’s objectives, every offseason matters a grave deal whether the front office merely swaps in veteran free agents or goes whole hog on the trade market. In order to reacquaint both ourselves and listeners/viewers with the new-look Milwaukee Bucks we happened upon the idea of a season preview interview series. And heck, since we’re going that direction anyhow, why not get as many people involved as we can manage? Our guest looks will run the gamut from the entire staff of Brew Hoop, fellow Milwaukee Bucks-focused podcasters, and beyond (with luck)!
And to bring things full circle, we wanted to bring the prodigal podcast program back into the fold if just for one afternoon. That’s right: Deer Diaries meets Camille Davis and Justin Garcia of Locked on Bucks — a crossover so ambitious we considered ourselves lucky the entire internet didn’t shut down the second we met up in our Streamyard studio.
We ran the two of them through a series of standard season preview questions we’ll be asking all our guests in order to help compare/contrast answers from across the analyst spectrum. Those questions include:
- New Buck you’re most intrigued by?
- Young Buck (third year or less) who will have the greatest impact on this season?
- Rank the new FA signings on how well they will fit the role they’ve been brought to fill
- Rank these players in terms of their importance to the season: Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez
- What do you think the team’s greatest current weakness is?
- Something you hope to see the Bucks do during the regular season is ______________________ (i.e. what would make watching 82 games worthwhile)
- In order for the Bucks to win a title, they must ________________________
- Predict the team’s finish in the East and how far they go in the playoffs
All that, plus each guest will have an opportunity to bring their own flavor to the Miscellaneous section with a segment all their own. On this episode, we proudly debuted, “Camille and Justin’s Simulation Station”.
We hope you enjoy this podcast and the many more to come!
