Cooper Pratt, Luke Adams among biggest risers in Brewers’ system
MLB.com released a midseason update to its top 100 prospects list, also unveiling the top 30 prospects for every team. MLB No. 43 prospect Jeferson Quero, an up-and-coming catcher, leads the Brewers.
Quero, 21, is out for the season after season-ending right shoulder surgery following his Triple-A Nashville debut in March. He fell slightly from his No. 35 slot entering the season, though he went from Milwaukee’s No. 3 prospect to No. 1 after the graduation of Jackson Chourio (MLB No. 2) and the fall of Jacob Misiorowski (MLB No. 33, now No. 66).
Behind Quero, Cooper Pratt is ranked No. 2 as one of the biggest risers in baseball. Selected in the sixth round of the 2023 MLB Draft, Pratt has advanced to High-A Wisconsin as a five-tool shortstop, coming in at No. 62 on MLB’s top 100 list. Pratt was Milwaukee’s No. 10 prospect entering the season, though he’s hit .287/.378/.396 with four homers, 39 RBIs, and 27 steals across 86 games between Low-A and High-A this year.
Pratt is followed in the rankings by Misiorowski, Tyler Black, Robert Gasser, Yophery Rodriguez, Brock Wilken, Luke Adams, Braylon Payne, and Logan Henderson to round out the top 10.
Among 2024 draftees, Payne (first round; Brewers No. 9) leads the pack, followed by Bryce Meccage (second round; Brewers No. 14), Blake Burke (competitive balance A; Brewers No. 15), and Travis Smith (15th round; Brewers No. 28).
