The postseason kicks off this afternoon in Milwaukee
It’s finally time for postseason baseball in Milwaukee. For the third time in four seasons, the Brewers are hosting a postseason series to start the playoffs, but they are hoping for much better results this time around.
Freddy Peralta was the Opening Day starter and he’s getting the nod for game one of the postseason as well. He hasn’t faced the Mets since Opening Day in New York but started off the season well with just one run allowed in six innings.
Opposing him is Luis Severino, who also faced the Brewers in that opening series but was less successful. He allowed six runs (three earned) in five innings in game two of the season. Severino is one of the few Mets who has been rested, with his last game pitched on Sept. 24.
In the game one lineup, Sal Frelick is back after his hard collision in Friday’s game against the Mets. He’ll bat eighth in what has become the usual lineup for Pat Murphy. There are no other surprises in today’s lineup.
