Crew looks to snap skid against familiar foe Jack Flaherty
Coming off another brutal loss, the Brewers have now lost three in a row and are back below .500 at 8-9 on the season. They’ll take on Jack Flaherty and the Detroit Tigers for the second of three games at American Family Field tonight, with Quinn Priester set to make his home debut for Milwaukee.
Priester, who made his team debut on Thursday in Colorado, allowed one run across five innings in a no-decision. He’ll look to build on that performance here on Jackie Robinson Day. Opposing him is Flaherty, who’s made 19 career appearances against Milwaukee due to his long tenure with the Cardinals. Across 94 1⁄3 innings against the Brewers, Flaherty has an ERA of 4.58 with 121 strikeouts.
Despite the righty Flaherty on the mound, Jackson Chourio leads off, with Brice Turang batting behind him. William Contreras bats third, Christian Yelich bats fourth as the DH, and Rhys Hoskins bats fifth. Sal Frelick, Garrett Mitchell, Joey Ortiz, and Oliver Dunn round out the order.
First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network. It’s also available out-of-market on MLB.TV and on local over-the-air stations across Wisconsin, including FOX6 in Milwaukee. More details on that can be found here.
