Brewers look to win season series against Pirates
The Brewers will not only be searching for a series victory tonight over the Pirates, but the season-long head-to-head record, as well.
The Brewers currently have the better of Pittsburgh with a 6-5 record and could secure the season series with a win. They’ll have ace Freddy Peralta out on the mound for his final regular season start as they look to do just that. Peralta’s been pitching well lately, posting a 2.19 ERA over his last seven starts.
Jackson Chourio, Garrett Mitchell, and Sal Frelick make up the outfield alignment. Mitchell’s been an underrated performer lately, slashing .255/.309/.608 in September.
Rhys Hoskins is at first base again with Jake Bauers settling in at designated hitter. The rest of the infield consists of the usual starters in Brice Turang, Willy Adames, and Joey Ortiz.
William Conteras starts at catcher, batting third in the lineup. He’s been getting on base at a wild clip this month. His .395 OBP in September is fueled by a 17.1% walk rate, a stark increase from his season-long mark of 11.3%.
First pitch is set for 5:40 p.m. on Bally Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
Wouldn’t mind a series win tonight, wbu
