Some lineup shakeups for Saturday night’s matchup
The Milwaukee Brewers will field an unusual lineup with several key players sitting tonight.
Notably, Jackson Chourio and William Contreras are both taking the day off. With Chourio, there was an injury scare as he attempted to make a play against the outfield wall last night. With other players, like Willy Adames, getting more rest with the playoffs approaching, hopefully this is just a routine day off.
The outfield will instead be set up with Sal Frelick in left field, alongside Blake Perkins and Garrett Mitchell.
Joey Ortiz will take third base to pair with Adames on the left side of the infield. Gold Glove-candidate Brice Turang will field second base, and Jake Bauers will be at first. Rhys Hoskins will be locked in at designated hitter, batting second in the lineup.
Eric Haase will be behind the plate. While he hasn’t had everyday playing time at the major league level, he has a .304 batting average and five home runs in 59 plate appearances.
Tonight’s starter will be Aaron Civale, who continues to build on his impressive Milwaukee resume. He’s continued to find consistent results with the Brewers, posting a 2.51 ERA over his last six starts.
First pitch is at 6:10 p.m. on Bally Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
